An investigating panel found 61-year-old Andrew Brook showed no remorse for manipulating one of his pupils into a sexual relationship.

Despite attempts to end the relationship, Brook continued to visit her during her university studies, even during a national lockdown, and engaged in a series of inappropriate and sexual acts.

The panel issued an indefinite prohibition order preventing him from teaching in any classroom in England.

In a written response, Brook claimed the girl was not manipulated but knew what she wanted.

The Teaching Regulation Agency found his lack of remorse and minimization of his actions as evidence of a real risk of repetition.
