ANDREW BONNER AND SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND LINCOLN
A 56-year-old man has been warned that he faces a lengthy prison sentence after admitting to a series of serious child sex offences.Andrew Bonner, who resides in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday to enter his guilty pleas.
The charges against Bonner included a range of disturbing acts, notably the rape of a child under the age of 13, as well as causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
All of these offences were committed within the Lincoln area and involved the same young victim.
The court heard that Bonner’s crimes were committed over a period of time, targeting the same individual, which underscores the severity and ongoing nature of his offending.
The details of the offences have caused significant concern, and the case has drawn considerable attention due to the gravity of the allegations.
Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight addressed Bonner directly during the hearing, stating, "You have pleaded guilty to what I know you know are extremely serious matters." She further indicated that Bonner would be remanded into custody pending sentencing, which is scheduled for October 9.
The judge emphasized the potential length of the sentence, warning Bonner that it would be "many years," reflecting the court’s recognition of the seriousness of his crimes and the impact on the victim involved.
