ANDREW BARRATT LEICESTER SCOUT LEADER SENTENCED FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL OFFENCES

A Leicester-based scout leader has been sentenced to six years in prison after sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl over 35 years ago. Andrew Barrett, 63, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault that occurred at the Scout headquarters in the early 1980s. In addition to his prison term, the court issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and mandated that Barrett register as a sex offender for life. He has expressed remorse for his actions.
