Holloway Child Sexual Abuser
In May 2011, Andonakis Constanti, a 53-year-old man residing on Caledonian Road in London, received a 15-month prison sentence after attempting to commit sexual offences against a girl he believed to be 14 years old.

Constanti was sentenced on Monday, 20 June, following his arrest by the Metropolitan Police’s Paedophile Unit. Authorities had successfully tricked him into believing he was communicating with a young girl through an online chat room. He was convicted of several child abuse offenses after it was demonstrated that he had traveled to a predetermined location with the clear intention of sexually abusing the girl.

The sequence of events began on 7 January 2011 when Constanti initiated contact with the girl via online chat, sending explicit images and encouraging her to perform sexual acts. He then arranged a meeting, indicating that he planned to take her back to his flat for sexual offences.

On 8 March 2011, Constanti arrived at the agreed meeting spot and was apprehended by detectives. During the arrest, he was found to possess five mobile phones and a craft knife. He could not provide a reasonable explanation for carrying the knife. He was subsequently taken into custody at Fulham police station.

The following day, on 9 March 2011, he was formally charged with attempting to groom a girl under 16, in violation of Section 15 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, along with related offences.

At a hearing on 17 March 2011 at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court, Constanti pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case was then transferred to Southwark Crown Court. On 13 May 2011, during proceedings at Southwark Crown Court, he changed his plea to guilty on all counts except three: two related to attempting to incite sexual acts without penetration, and one concerning possession of the craft knife. These three counts were left on file.

Detective Inspector Noel McHugh expressed concern about Constanti's predatory nature, stating, “Constanti is an individual of particular concern due to his predatory sexual behaviour towards teenage girls. I believe it is entirely feasible that this is not his first offence and would therefore take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who believes that they or someone they know may have been his victim to contact the Met’s Paedophile Unit on 020 7161 3871. We believe he may also have used the pseudonym all-alone 2010 and Funtime Charlie.”

He urged victims to come forward, assuring confidentiality and offering alternatives like Crimestoppers, NSPCC, and Childline. Reflecting on the dangers posed by internet use, Inspector McHugh advised parents and carers to take proactive steps in supervising their children's online interactions.
