COVENTRY MAN JAILED FOR ATTACKING SEX WORKERS AND BRANDED A DANGER
A man who assaulted and sexually attacked sex workers in Coventry has been described as a threat to women.Andit Tekelemariam, aged 28, was convicted following a trial in which the victims testified about two sexual assault incidents and an attempted robbery.
After Tekelemariam, of Dane Road, Stoke, was sentenced by a judge at Warwick Crown Court, the police officer leading the investigation commended the victims for their courage.
Tekelemariam, who had previously admitted to assaulting another sex worker when blood matching her DNA was found on his shoes, received a seven-year prison sentence with an extended license period.
The judge determined he presents a danger to sex workers.
He will be required to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before a parole review can be considered.
His release before completing the full term is only possible if deemed safe, and he will remain on license for the remainder of his imprisonment plus an additional five years.
