CHESHIRE OFFENDER JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER LURING TEEN INTO CAR
A teenage girl was lured into a strangerâs car in a Cheshire supermarket car park and sexually assaulted.
Aman Singh, aged 27, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault by a jury and has been jailed.
The incident occurred after Singh enticed the victim with the promise of vapes.
The court heard Singh was sitting in his car at Morrisons in Widnes last August when he noticed the 15-year-old girl walking past with a friend.
He called her over to his car, which she entered, but Singh proceeded to bite her on the neck and breast.
Singh, who came to the UK from Afghanistan in 2018 with his family but whose application to remain was refused, has appealed the decision.
He currently holds a limited work permit.
In mitigation, the court was told that Singh has no previous convictions and described the incident as an 'isolated incident.' Singh was sentenced to 18 months in prison, to be served immediately, and must sign the sex offender register for the next 10 years.
Additionally, he has to abide by a sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order for five years each.
