ALLAN ATKINSON FROM BISPHAM SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF BROTHERS IN BLACKPOOL

In a case that has shocked the local community, Allan Atkinson, a 61-year-old man residing on Daventry Avenue in Bispham, Blackpool, has been sentenced to prison for a series of serious sexual offenses committed against two young brothers.

The crimes took place during the mid-1970s, specifically between 1974 and 1975, when the victims were aged between 10 and 13 years old.

Atkinson, who was known to the victims as a family friend, exploited the trust placed in him and engaged in inappropriate and criminal sexual acts against the brothers over a period of time.

The details of the offenses emerged during a trial held at Preston Crown Court, where the jury found him guilty of eight separate sex offenses.

The nature of these offenses has caused considerable distress among the victims and their families, as well as the wider community in Blackpool.

Following the conviction, the court sentenced Atkinson to serve eight years in prison.
