ALFIE MURRAY FROM KENT SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR ONLINE SEX OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN

A man registered as a sex offender from Kent has been sentenced to prison after continuing to target young girls through online communications, despite previous legal restrictions.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about online safety and the enforcement of court orders designed to protect minors.

Authorities became aware of Alfie Murray’s repeated misconduct following a report from a young girl in October of the previous year.

The girl had received inappropriate and indecent messages from an individual using the internet, prompting an investigation by law enforcement officials.

Through their inquiries, police identified Murray, who resides in Medway, as the individual responsible.

He was known to use the online aliases KLOWN.7010 and ALFIEMILWALL85 during his interactions.

Investigators uncovered that Murray had solicited explicit images, issued threats, and caused significant distress to the victim, who eventually blocked him to cease contact.

These actions raised serious concerns about his compliance with legal restrictions and his potential threat to other children.

It was established that Murray had a prior conviction on June 1, 2022, for sex offences involving minors.

Following this conviction, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which imposed strict conditions on his behavior.

These conditions mandated that he notify authorities if he acquired any internet-enabled devices or engaged in unsupervised communication with anyone under the age of 16.

Additionally, he was required to make his electronic devices available for inspection by police and to permit the installation of monitoring software to oversee his online activity.

Despite these measures, Murray demonstrated a blatant disregard for the court’s directives.

His willingness to breach the conditions of his SHPO was evident when, on January 4 of this year, police executed a search warrant at his residence on Queens Road, Gillingham.

During the search, officers recovered multiple undeclared internet-enabled devices and found evidence indicating that Murray had been contacting numerous other children, further exposing him to the risk of reoffending.

Following these discoveries, Murray was formally charged and subsequently pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court.

His charges included six counts of breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, one count of violating his sex offender notification requirements, and one count of communicating sexually with a minor.

The court proceedings revealed a pattern of ongoing misconduct despite the legal restrictions placed upon him.

On May 30, Murray, aged 32, was sentenced to three years in prison.

The sentence included the activation of a previously suspended term, meaning he will serve a minimum of 18 months behind bars.

The remaining portion of his sentence will be served on licence, subject to supervision and compliance with legal conditions.

PC Leona Valsler, a representative of the Medway Offender Management Unit, commented on the case, emphasizing the importance of monitoring registered sex offenders.

She explained that law enforcement regularly visits individuals like Murray to ensure adherence to court orders and to prevent further crimes.

The team also installs monitoring software on their devices and conducts unannounced visits to their homes to verify compliance.

Valsler expressed her concern over Murray’s conduct, stating, “Murray has exhibited a willingness to breach the conditions of his court order and subject further children to his appalling obscene conduct.

He has shown himself to be entirely untrustworthy and the court has quite rightly sent him to prison.”
