Exeter Domestic Abuser
Alexander Wyatt, 28, was involved in a violent domestic assault that left Robyn Bennett, 25, severely injured. She has shared graphic images of her injuries to highlight the brutality of the attack, which occurred after a day out to a wrestling event in Torquay. Wyatt had been in a relationship with Robyn for approximately four months and was unaware of his prior convictions. During the incident, Wyatt began verbally abusing Robyn at a pub and continued to do so when they traveled back to Exeter. The situation escalated when Wyatt suddenly lashed out at Robyn in the car, grabbing her hair and banging her head into an armrest. After stopping the vehicle on the South Devon Expressway, Wyatt physically assaulted her, punching and kicking her in the face and chest while his friends failed to intervene. A family passing by stopped their car and intervened, dragging Robyn into their vehicle and taking her to the hospital. She suffered from severe bruising, a cut lip, and persistent vision problems. The attack profoundly affected her mental health, leading her to relocate with her parents and change her job. Wyatt was sentenced to 14 months in prison after admitting to assault causing actual bodily harm at Exeter Crown Court. Robyn described her fear, her faith in those who intervened, and her hope to encourage other victims to speak out against domestic violence, emphasizing that silence could be deadly.
