ALEXANDER SLIMINGS SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN DURHAM AND TEESSIDE
Alexander Slimings, a 21-year-old man from Billingham, has been sentenced to a substantial prison term of 14 years following his conviction for a series of serious child sex offences.The sentencing took place at Teesside Crown Court on Friday, 27 October, and was accompanied by the imposition of a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
The offences for which Slimings pleaded guilty encompass a wide range of criminal acts involving minors.
These included multiple counts of sexual assault, the creation and distribution of indecent images of children, and acts of voyeurism.
The criminal activities spanned a period from October 2019 through March 2023, with incidents reported in both the Teesside and County Durham areas, highlighting a disturbing pattern of abuse over several years.
Slimings was initially arrested in March 2023, following a police investigation into allegations made against him.
He was remanded into custody immediately after his arrest and has remained in detention since that time.
The investigation that commenced with his initial arrest uncovered additional victims and offences, leading to further charges being brought against him.
This comprehensive probe was conducted by specialized units within the police force, including the Child Abuse and Vulnerable Adults Team (CAVA) and the Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT), among others.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Jez Collins, who served as the Senior Investigating Officer for the case, expressed his thoughts on the proceedings.
He acknowledged the profound distress caused to the victims and their families, emphasizing their resilience and support throughout the investigation.
Detective Collins also extended gratitude to the dedicated officers and staff involved in the case, noting the importance of collaboration among various agencies and partner organizations.

He stated, "I am satisfied that Slimings is now behind bars, where he can no longer prey on those most vulnerable in our society.
