In August 2020, authorities launched a comprehensive manhunt for Alexander Macura, a 66-year-old sex offender who has been evading police for five days after failing to return to custody.Macura, who was previously incarcerated in August 2019 for exposure offences, is now wanted for breaching his license conditions and is considered a significant risk to the community.
Macura was last seen on August 21 at an address in Fleetwood, Lancashire.
Descriptions provided by law enforcement indicate he is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a heavy build, blue eyes, and shoulder-length grey hair that is described as greasy.
He also sports a short, grey beard.
On the day he went missing, witnesses recall him wearing a burgundy sweatshirt, loose-fitting blue jeans, and a black padded jacket.
Police officials, including Sergeant Laraine Lister of Fleetwood Police, have issued urgent appeals to the public for information.
She stated, “Macura is wanted on recall to prison after breaching his licence conditions.
He has links to Lancaster, specifically to the city centre, Cattle Market, and Wyresdale Road areas, as well as to Halifax in West Yorkshire.” Authorities emphasize the importance of community vigilance, urging anyone who has seen Macura or has information about his whereabouts to contact the police immediately.

Meanwhile, Macura’s criminal history continues to cast a shadow over his recent activities.
In March 2019, he was involved in a separate incident that drew significant media attention.
He was caught near Fairfield playground in Lancaster, with his trousers down and boxer shorts visible, looking in the direction of children in the park.
An off-duty police officer observed him at around 3:15 pm, as children were expected to leave school.
Two days later, on January 30, Macura was seen urinating against a wall outside the JD Sports store on Lancaster’s Market Street, with his private parts still exposed, facing members of the public.
His history reveals a pattern of inappropriate and illegal behaviour involving minors and school premises.
He is subject to a sexual harm prevention order that explicitly bans him from entering school grounds.
His criminal record includes a 14-month jail sentence handed down in August 2019 by Judge Andrew Jefferies QC, after he was found lying on a bale of straw under a canopy in a school yard, claiming he wanted to sleep there.
The same judge has deferred his current sentence for breaches until August 5, with Macura being returned to prison until August 19 to serve the remainder of his previous sentence.
Macura’s troubling history extends back several years.
Three years prior, he was caught trespassing at Lancaster Grammar School just three days after being released from jail for breaching the same order.
In May 2018, a school in Wales issued a letter to parents after Macura was found trespassing on its premises, triggering an alarm.
His pattern of behaviour demonstrates repeated violations of restrictions designed to protect children and the community.
In July 2018, Macura was found lying on a bale of straw in the yard of Kelbrook Primary School in Barnoldswick, east Lancashire, after traveling across the county to sleep in the school grounds.
His history includes multiple breaches of a sexual harm prevention order, including trespassing and loitering near educational institutions.
Despite these restrictions, he has continued to engage in activities that raise serious concerns about his intentions and the safety of minors in the areas of Lancaster, Barnoldswick, and beyond.
