Swindon Rapist
A man identified as Alexander Franczyk has been found guilty of raping a child under 13. The jury at Winchester Crown Court convicted Franczyk of 13 sexual offences on a Tuesday. These charges included multiple incidents of rape, one attempted rape, as well as several assaults involving penetration and other sexual assaults. The case was described as "deeply upsetting" by Detective Constable Sarah Pollock of Wiltshire Police, who praised the 'incredible bravery' of the two young victims who reported the abuse after suffering it for several years. Franczyk, aged 58 and residing in Pritchard Close, Swindon, had previously pled guilty to possessing indecent images of children and is scheduled for sentencing at the Old Bailey on 22 October. Detective Pollock expressed hope that his victims will now be able to begin rebuilding their lives, knowing that Franczyk will face a significant custodial sentence.
