ALEXANDER DAVIES OF SWANSEA SENTENCED FOR OFFENCES INVOLVING 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In July 2017, a 12-year-old girl was groomed on Facebook and later sexually assaulted in a park, leading to the imprisonment of the offender.
Swansea resident Alexander Sebastian Wyn Davies, who was 19 at the time of the offences, was responsible for the crimes.
The young girl bravely reported what had happened to her, which police have publicly praised.
Davies, now 20 years old and residing at Rosehill Terrace, Mount Pleasant, Swansea, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting an underage girl to engage in sexual activity and one count of sexual assault.
He appeared in Swansea Crown Court for sentencing.
The court was told that Davies connected with the girl via Facebook, exchanging messages before arranging to meet.
He then carried out sex acts on her at a train station and in a park in the Neath area.
Following his guilty plea, Davies was sentenced to 14 months in a young offenders' institution and was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
