ALEXANDER CARR'S SHOCKING ABUSE IN SWINDON: BROTHER SENTENCED FOR YEARS OF HORRIFIC MOLESTATION

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Swindon, Alexander Carr, aged 30, has been sentenced to five years in prison for a prolonged and deeply troubling history of abusing his own sister over a span of more than a decade.

The court proceedings revealed the extent of the abuse, which began when the victim was just seven years old and continued until she was 17.

As Carr was led away from the courtroom this afternoon, he maintained a stoic demeanor, staring straight ahead without glancing at the spectators in the public gallery.

The judge, Peter Crabtree, addressed the court and emphasized the severe psychological damage inflicted upon the victim, who has endured years of trauma as a result of her brother’s actions.

Judge Crabtree detailed the manipulative and coercive tactics Carr employed to persuade his sister to comply with his demands.

These included physical violence, such as punching her, as well as attempts to bribe her with gifts and offers to drive her to school if she missed the bus.

The judge stated, “You would constantly try and collar her in your house to ask her to do it, and when she got older and had a mobile phone, you messaged and texted her relentlessly, so she would eventually give in.” In March, a jury in Swindon found Carr guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 and two charges of engaging in sexual activity with a family member aged 13 to 17.

The offences spanned from 2004 to 2013, covering a significant period during which the abuse took place.

The court heard harrowing details from the victim, who recounted how her brother, five years her senior, began abusing her when she was around seven or eight years old.

She described how their relationship started with seemingly innocent play-acting at their grandparents’ house, which later devolved into sexual abuse.

The victim explained that the abuse initially occurred in her bedroom while the family was living elsewhere in the country, but after relocating to Swindon, the assaults continued within their family home, often in her brother’s bedroom.

She described the abusive acts, including “dry humping,” and recounted how her brother would physically assault her, including punching her.

She admitted that she felt so frightened that she would simply let him do what he wanted.

As she grew older, the frequency of his requests increased, and she was subjected to constant pressure, including being followed around the house, receiving persistent texts and calls, and being coerced into sexual acts.

The victim detailed how her brother would sometimes try to tickle her or play a “kissing game,” all under the guise of normalcy, but with sinister intent.

She was led to believe that her compliance was necessary for her brother’s relief, even being told that he might develop cancer if she refused to perform sexual acts on him.

At one point, she was shown an email, purportedly from a professional support figure, which suggested she needed to continue submitting to the abuse.

Her brother’s manipulations extended into social media, where he bombarded her with messages into the early hours, pleading for her to visit him.

The court was presented with 81 pages of these messages, illustrating the persistent and invasive nature of his attempts to control her.

Eventually, the victim left home at the age of 17, fleeing the abusive environment and leaving behind her younger sister, her father, and her mother, who was suffering from a degenerative brain disease.

In a heartfelt victim personal statement read aloud in court, she expressed the lasting impact of her brother’s actions, stating, “I will never get over what my brother has done.

He has left a scar both psychologically and emotionally that will never heal.” She also revealed that she felt numb during much of the abuse, perceiving it as normal due to its frequency.

Following his conviction, Carr finally admitted to his offending during a meeting with a probation officer, though he had not previously acknowledged his actions publicly.

During the sentencing at Swindon Crown Court, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with underage girls.

Additionally, he is required to remain on the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further harm.
