In a case that has drawn significant attention in the Highlands, Alexander Berriedale, the 23-year-old heir to the Earl of Caithness, has been officially placed on the sex offenders register following his admission of engaging in sexual activity with a girl who was only 15 years old at the time.According to reports presented at Wick Sheriff Court, Berriedale was observed having sexual intercourse at a secluded beauty spot in the Highlands, an area known for its scenic landscapes and quiet retreats.
The incident took place when the girl was still a minor, and her age was confirmed during the court proceedings.
It was also revealed that the girl, now 16, attended the court to show her support for Berriedale, indicating that their relationship was ongoing at the time of the court case.
Despite the nature of the charges, the court was informed that the two maintained a friendly relationship.
As part of his sentencing, Berriedale, who holds the title Lord Berriedale, was given a probation period of one year.
