ALEX HONOUR AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN HALIFAX
A man named Alex Honour, aged 25, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences involving underage girls in Halifax. The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spanned several years, beginning when Honour was just 15 years old.
On a recent Friday, a judge in Bradford delivered a verdict that underscored the ongoing danger Honour poses to young girls in the community.
The judge determined that Honour remains a significant threat and therefore imposed an extended license period of four additional years beyond his prison sentence, classifying him as a "dangerous offender." This decision reflects the court’s concern about the potential for Honour to reoffend.
Legal restrictions prevent the identification of Honour’s nine victims, but during the trial, court officials and the judge heard harrowing details of how Honour manipulated and sexually abused these young girls.
The court heard evidence of his calculated and cruel tactics aimed at exploiting vulnerable minors for his own gratification.
Judge Jonathan Rose, presiding over the case, expressed his firm belief that Honour had deliberately targeted young and vulnerable girls in Halifax.
He referenced a pre-sentence report that described Honour’s conduct as predatory, a characterization with which the judge concurred.
The report and the judge’s own assessment confirmed that Honour’s actions were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of calculated abuse.
Honour, who resides on Lentilfield Street in Ovenden, had previously admitted to a series of sexual offences in March of this year.
However, some victims still had to testify during a trial held in August, which detailed the extent of Honour’s misconduct.
The court learned that Honour’s offending began when he was only 15 and continued until he was approximately 20 years old.
One of the victims provided a heartbreaking impact statement, describing how Honour’s actions made her feel worthless and used.
Another victim recounted being exploited and manipulated by Honour, highlighting the emotional and psychological trauma inflicted upon them.
Among the most serious offences was an incident where Honour attempted to coerce an underage girl into having sex with him inside a cave.
However, the court found that the most grave offence was the rape of a different young girl while she was asleep.
The judge described how the girl was horrified to wake up and find Honour, then 20, engaging in sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
In sentencing, Judge Rose handed down concurrent prison terms for various offences, including sexual assault, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that the rape was the most serious crime committed and increased the sentence for that offence to 10-and-a-half years.
Furthermore, Honour was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
The court also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order to prevent any contact with his victims and to mitigate the risk of further offending.
These measures aim to protect the community and ensure that Honour remains under supervision for the foreseeable future.
