NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING TEENAGE GIRLS ONLINE
A man from North Lincolnshire, described as a “sexual predator,” who used social media platforms to exploit teenage girls has been sentenced to over five years in prison.
Alex Holdsworth, aged 29, engaged in a pattern of manipulation involving five young females, convincing them to send him indecent images of themselves while also sharing explicit content himself.
In one particular case, he arranged to meet a girl in person and committed sexual assault.
Detectives commended the victims for their courage in helping to ensure this offender was brought to justice.
Holdsworth, a resident of Ramblers Lane in Barton-Upon-Humber, received a prison sentence of five years and four months at Grimsby Crown Court on 18 October.
Additionally, he was issued a sexual harm prevention order valid for ten years and was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
He admitted to eight charges during a previous hearing, which included four counts of sexual communication with a child, three counts of inciting children to participate in sexual acts, and one count of producing an indecent image of a child.
Police officials issued a statement highlighting the bravery of the victims and their families.
According to Humberside Police, Holdsworth targeted the five girls via social media in August 2021, aiming to build their trust and exploit them.
