ALDRIDGE SCHOOL ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION ALERT IN ALDRIDGE
In October 2012, a warning was issued after an incident near Aldridge School, Tryings Lane, Aldridge, where it was claimed that two men attempted to lure a 12-year-old student into a van.Robert Trawford, the headteacher of nearby Cooper and Jordan Primary School, explained that a text message was sent to 500 parents and guardians at 9:30 am, advising them to remain vigilant.
He stated, “A child from Aldridge School said a white van pulled up yesterday near the school and the boy said that two men who appeared to be of Asian descent asked him to get into the van with them.
He said he wasn’t going to do that.” The boy, who is 12 years old, told his mother about the encounter.
Mr.
Trawford emphasized the importance of informing parents, noting, “We warned our parents because his younger brother is in our school.” The incident was shared through Schoolsafe, a platform that allows schools to communicate and share safety information.
West Midlands Police have been informed of the incident as well.
