Alastair Darlington

Stepps Sexual Abuser

August 2017 Sex pest avoids jail sentence A man who sent indecent images and sexual remarks to a 13-year-old girl has narrowly avoided jail. Alastair Darlington (28) was placed on a supervised community payback order for two years, told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work in nine months and placed on the sex offenders register for three years when he appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday. Sheriff Derek Livingston warned him: “This is a direct alternative to custody. This was an unpleasant offence involving a young girl, however I note you are a first offender and pled guilty to avoid the need for her to give evidence at your trial.” Darlington, from Lednock Road in Stepps, claimed he was drunk when he contacted the girl at her home in Stenhousemuir on November 10 last year. July 2017 Sleazy taekwondo medallist sent sick video of himself to 13-year-old girl A taekwondo medallist sent a video of himself performing a sex act to a girl of 13. Alastair Darlington, 28, told the teen “age doesn’t matter” as he targeted her with sick clips and pics on Snapchat. The pervert, from Stepps, near Glasgow, shared an explicit image of himself and asked if she wanted to see him carry out a solo sex act, a court heard. Prosecutor Michael Maguire said: “The witness then received a video of a male. It appeared to be the accused.” Falkirk Sheriff Court was told Darlington — bronze medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships — contacted the girl on the social media site last November. He added: “He sent a message saying, ‘Are you old enough yet?’. The witness asked the accused how old he was and he replied by saying age doesn’t matter. “The witness replied saying she was 15 and the accused stated that it didn’t matter. “The accused sent the witness a picture of a naked penis. The picture deleted automatically after ten seconds.” But when the creep posted another filthy snap proposing a sex act, the girl took a screen shot on her iPad as evidence. She pleaded for the messages to stop but Darlington refused. Mr Maguire said: “The witness blocked the accused from her Snapchat account and advised her mother.” The former University of West of Scotland coach admitted causing the teenager to look at sexual images and making sexual remarks to her. Not guilty pleas to sending sexual messages to a girl of 14 and a woman were accepted. Deferring sentence until August, Sheriff Derek Livingston put Darlington on the sex offenders register.
