ALASDAIR GARVEN AND SHOCKING CHILD ABUSE IN BATH
In a disturbing case heard at a Royal Court, Alasdair Garven, aged 65, of Loxton Drive, Twerton, Bath, faced serious allegations related to historical child abuse. During the trial, Garven asserted that he had no sexual interest in children, a claim that contrast sharply with the evidence and convictions against him.It was revealed that Garven was convicted on multiple counts of unlawful sexual activity involving a 14-year-old girl. This revelation added a grave dimension to his criminal history, which months earlier resulted in a conviction for similar offenses. Garven’s demeanor during the proceedings was subdued; he lowered his head and closed his eyes as the jury, known as Jurats, unanimously found him guilty of all 10 charges related to the historic abuse.
The charges against him included five counts of committing acts of gross indecency and five counts of indecently assaulting girls under the age of 16—these acts allegedly occurred between the years 1970 and 1977. The victims, all girls, provided evidence that underscored the serious nature of these crimes. The alleged incidents took place at Garven’s former residences, specifically on the Rectory Hill and Le Picquerel estates, as well as at another property located in Castel. The girls, whose ages ranged from approximately four to nine at the time of the offenses, have testified in court to the horrific experiences they endured.
All four young victims' testimonies contributed to the compelling evidence against Garven, painting a disturbing picture of abuse that spanned several years. The court has ordered a probation report to be prepared, which will inform the sentencing scheduled for next month. Garven’s actions, and his denial of any sexual interest in children, will be a key focus during the sentencing phase, as the legal process moves forward to determine appropriate punishment for his historic crimes.
