EVESHAM MAN FACES HISTORIC SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES IN COURT

An Evesham man named Alan Wilson, aged 68 of Coombefield Road, Wickhamford, appeared in court charged with multiple historical sexual offenses.

The charges include rape of a girl under 16, attempted rape of another girl under 16, three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, and one count of indecent assault on a girl under 16.

Wilson appeared via video-link at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Carlisle.

The allegations span several years from April 13, 1978, to December 1, 1980, with reports indicating the incidents occurred in Carlisle.

Wilson has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and is scheduled to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on April 3.

He has been granted conditional bail until that date.
