ALAN WALLACE FROM PUCKERIDGE JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN SHALFORD

In April 2004, Alan Wallace, 56, of Cambridge Road, Puckeridge, Hertfordshire, was sentenced to eight months in prison after admitting to multiple charges related to child pornography.

Wallace pleaded guilty to 16 counts of making indecent images of children and six counts of possessing such images.

The prosecution, represented by Samantha Leigh, explained that police discovered the illicit material on a computer at Wallace's former residence in Church End, Shalford, during a search conducted with a warrant on April 17 of the previous year.

Experts estimated that Wallace would have spent up to 39 hours collecting all the images and video clips found on the device.

Authorities recovered a total of 72 images, including one classified as level 5, the most serious category, alongside 26 images at level four.

Mitigation attorney Allison Munro stated that Wallace now recognizes that viewing and downloading child pornography encourages the ongoing abuse of children.

She commented, “His reputation is shot to pieces.

There is no likelihood of him offending in this way again.” The judge, Rodger Hayward Smith Q.C., extended Wallace’s license, meaning that if he commits any further offenses within the next two years, he could be recalled to prison.

Additionally, Wallace was required to register as a sex offender for 10 years and was subject to a restraining order that bans him from viewing child pornography on the internet for the same period.
