RAPIST DESCRIBED AS 'MONSTER' GIVEN 20 YEARS
A man who sexually assaulted multiple young girls has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of seven counts of sexual assault and one count of rape.Alan Styles, age 44, formerly residing on Semington Road in Melksham, was given the custodial sentence at Winchester Crown Court on 19 June, following a trial held in February.
The crimes took place at various locations between January 2019 and October 2023.
During the hearing, a parent of one of the victims addressed the court, stating: "While I believed you were kind and caring, you were concealing your true nature.
The truth is that you are a monster." One of Styles' victims shared her experience, revealing that the trauma continues to affect her daily.
She expressed: "Everywhere I go, I am reminded of you.
I blame myself for what you did, feeling as if it was somehow my fault.
I wish I had the strength to tell someone to make it stop.
I was a child and you exposed me to things I should never have encountered.
My hope is that you face consequences that can change your life, just as what you did has profoundly changed mine."
