BELFAST SEX OFFENDER BREACHES COURT ORDER ADMITTING GUILT
Alan Hamilton, a known offender with previous convictions for sexual crimes, has admitted to breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order (Sopo).According to court reports, his solicitor revealed that Hamilton would plead guilty to three counts, including changing his address without informing authorities and failing to update his circumstances as required.
The 64-year-old, originally from Dungannon but now residing in University Street in south Belfast, has a concerning criminal history that includes convictions for groping a waitress in a restaurant and communicating sexually with children.
He was previously sentenced to two months in jail for breaching his Sopo in November 2023 by staying at a hotel without approval.
Hamilton was also jailed in February 2022 for exposing himself to young girls aged 9, 11, and 12 in a playpark near his home.
The judge at that time described him as someone preying on vulnerable children for sexual gratification, sentencing him to two years and seven months, with half served and half on license.
His criminal record further includes convictions from June 2018 for engaging in sexual communication with children.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report, and he is expected to face sentencing soon.
