AYLESBURY MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING AND ABUSING UNDER-AGE GIRLS
Six men, including Vikram Singh, have been sentenced to prison for abusing and grooming under-age girls.The offenders, all from Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, and Bradford, used various methods such as transportation in cars and vans, and sometimes in flats and the victims' homes, to carry out their crimes.
The Old Bailey heard that the abuse involved multiple rapes, child prostitution, and administering substances to stupefy the girls.
Most of the men received long prison sentences, with the longest being 19-and-a-half years.
Specifically, Vikram Singh, aged 46, of Cannock Road, Aylesbury, was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years after being found guilty of four counts of rape and administering a substance with intent.
The court heard evidence from the victims, who came from troubled backgrounds, and were befriended by the men who provided alcohol, DVDs, food, and occasionally drugs.
One girl, known as A, was passed between 60 Asian men for sex and believed it was normal behavior due to conditioning.
The judge, John Bevan QC, said, "for the price of a McDonald's, a milkshake, and a cinema ticket, she became 'liked' by stall holders in Aylesbury market, taxi, and bus drivers." He added, "Why these defendants focused their attention on white under-age girls is unexplained but I have no doubt vulnerability played a substantial part in it.
If they pursued Asian under-age girls, they would have paid a heavy price in their community." Girl A spoke of her feelings of worthlessness, battling depression and alcohol addiction, and feeling as if her teenage years were taken away.
The second girl, known as B, described the sentencing as 'academic' because 'no sentence could ever put right what happened.' The court also mentioned potential legal action against Buckinghamshire County Council for negligence that contributed to the victims' suffering.
The court highlighted the vulnerability exploited by the offenders and the background of the victims, emphasizing the severity of the crimes and the impact on their lives.
