Ahmed Jaral

Luton Sexual Abuser

March 2016 Paedophile jailed for 28 years for ‘long campaign’ of sexual abuse against five victims A PAEDOPHILE who preyed on youngsters in Luton was given a 28 year extended prison sentence today (Monday) when he appeared for sentence at Luton Crown court. Ahmed Jaral had been convicted at the end of a trial in January of sex offences involving five victims. Judge Michael Kay QC had adjourned sentence for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Today when 45-year-old Jaral appeared before him via a video link from Bedford Prison where he has been held, the judge said the report made it clear he still had no insight into what he’d done to his victims and he still showed no remorse. Passing sentence on Jaral, a married man of Grange Avenue in Luton, the judge told him “This was a long campaign of physical and sexual abuse against helpless individuals.” During his trial the jury heard Jaral had committed offences of three of his victims, a young girl and two young boys in the 1980’s and the 1990s Two other victims were attacked by him in the 1990s. Today some of his victims, who are now adults, were in court to see him jailed. The offences had been comitted at a number of addresses in Luton and one young girl had been assaulted while in his car. Jaral appeared for sentence having been found guilty by the jury of three offences of buggery, three offences indecent assault, three offences of attempting to commit buggery and four offences of indecent assault on a male person. His victims had been aged between five and into their early teens. Before passing sentence Judge Kay was told Jaral’s victims had suffered from depression and psychological problems because of what Jaral had done to them. Sometimes Jaral had put on porn films infront of the children before sexually abusing them. What he did to the children had left some of them in pain and needing medical attention. Judge Kay told the defendant he posed a significant risk of committing further serious offences. He told Jaral for that reason he was going to pass an extended prison sentence. Judge Kay told the defendant the custodial element of the sentence meant he would receive a prison sentence of 20 years. When he is released Jaral was told he will be subject to an extended period of licence an liable to recall for eight years.
