AHMED DEQ MOHAMED SENTENCED IN LONDON FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRL
A man identified as Ahmed Deq Mohamed, residing in the London area, has been handed a significant prison sentence after being convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl. The incident took place in London, and Mohamed, aged 20, was found guilty of this serious offense following a thorough investigation by local authorities.
Mohamed's criminal history includes a prior conviction for sexually assaulting a child under the age of thirteen.
This previous conviction underscores a troubling pattern of behavior that has now culminated in his recent conviction.
The latest assault occurred on June 16, 2023, when Mohamed violated another young victim, an act that has brought him before the courts once again.
Following the incident, law enforcement authorities acted swiftly.
Mohamed was arrested and formally charged just five days after the assault.
The police investigation was bolstered by forensic evidence collected at the scene, which played a crucial role in establishing his guilt.
Additionally, the victim provided a compelling video account of the assault, which proved instrumental in securing the conviction.
Detective Constable Oliver Colville, who led the investigation, expressed his appreciation for the victim’s bravery in coming forward.
He stated, “I would like to praise the victim for initially coming forward to police, and for reporting this repulsive behaviour from Mohamed.
The compelling video account provided by her assisted with the forensic evidence that we had, making it enough to convict Mohamed.” Mohamed appeared before the Inner London Crown Court on May 22, where he was sentenced to four years and six months in prison.
The court also imposed a twelve-month period on license, meaning he will be under supervision after his release.
The judge’s decision reflects the severity of his actions and the need to protect the community from further harm.
In addition to his prison sentence, Mohamed will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his activities and prevent any future offenses of a similar nature.
His previous conviction for sexually assaulting a child under thirteen by penetration was also considered during sentencing, highlighting the ongoing concerns about his conduct.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of victim bravery and the critical role of forensic evidence in securing justice in cases of sexual assault in London.
