Ahmed Al-Khatib, a resident of Manchester, has been handed a life sentence in connection with the tragic and brutal murder of his wife, Rania Alayed.
Rania, who was only 25 years old at the time of her death and a mother to three children, fell victim to a carefully orchestrated act of violence that has left her family and community devastated.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Al-Khatib meticulously planned the killing, and her body has yet to be recovered despite ongoing police efforts.
In his defense, Al-Khatib claimed that he acted in self-defense, asserting that an 'evil spirit' entered Rania, which supposedly provoked his actions.
