Huddersfield Rapist
A man accused of raping and abusing two young girls has been sentenced to 22 years in prison. Adrian Rycroft, 43, who has no fixed address, committed the offences over a span of four years from 2019 to 2023. Although Rycroft denied the charges, he was convicted by a jury of 10 offences after a trial at Leeds Crown Court held in January. The court was informed that Rycroft's offending was uncovered when his victims reported the incidents to the police. Det Con Amy Green from the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit stated that Rycroft "clearly poses a significant danger to young children," highlighting the serious nature of his crimes. Following the sentencing on Friday, she noted how the offenses had profoundly affected the victims and underscored the devastating impact such crimes have on victims.
