ADRIAN GOODMAN FROM ROCK SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES NEAR BEWDLEY
In a case that has shocked the local community near Bewdley, Adrian Goodman, a 32-year-old resident of Rock, was found to possess an extensive collection of illegal and disturbing material involving children. The authorities uncovered hundreds of indecent images and videos depicting child abuse on his personal computer, leading to serious legal consequences.Goodman appeared before Worcester Crown Court to face sentencing after earlier admitting to four charges of creating indecent images of children. These offenses took place over a period from February to October 2013, during which he was found to have amassed a significant number of illicit materials. The prosecution, led by Michael Conry, detailed how police officers responded to an anonymous tip and subsequently conducted a search of Goodman’s residence on Rectory Lane.
During the search, law enforcement officials discovered more than 100 videos and 82 photographs that contained indecent images of children. Additionally, they found 55 more videos stored in files that were no longer accessible, indicating that Goodman had attempted to hide or delete some of the material. The evidence was deemed highly disturbing and indicative of serious criminal behavior.
Judge Michael Cullum, presiding over the case, sentenced Goodman to a term of 12 months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for two years. As part of his sentence, Goodman was ordered to participate in a community sexual offenders group work program, aimed at rehabilitation and monitoring. Furthermore, he was placed on the sexual offenders register for a period of seven years, a measure designed to keep track of individuals convicted of such offenses.
Additional restrictions were imposed on Goodman, including a ban on any contact with children under the age of 16. He was also prohibited from using any computer unless it was equipped with the capability to monitor his internet searches, a precaution intended to prevent further offenses. The judge emphasized that while Goodman had no prior criminal record, similar offenses often result in imprisonment, and he issued a stern warning that any future violations would lead to a custodial sentence. The judge also remarked that for someone like Goodman, serving time in prison would be a particularly severe and undesirable consequence, underscoring the seriousness of the crime and the importance of ongoing supervision.
