Huntingdon Domestic Abuser
A 48-year-old man named Adrian Fox was sentenced to just over two years in prison following a violent domestic assault on Boxing Day. The incident happened at their home on Grove Lane in Hemingford Grey, close to Huntingdon. According to Cambridgeshire Police, Fox began a brutal attack shortly before 6 pm, during which he strangled his partner while she was seated on the sofa. He also struck her in the face, headbutted her, and pulled her across the floor using her hair. The victim pleaded with Fox to call an ambulance, but he declined, leaving her to seek refuge in the bathroom. Neighbors, who heard the commotion, contacted police, who found Fox hiding in a nearby caravan. Fox pleaded guilty to charges including intentional strangulation and actual bodily harm at Peterborough Crown Court on January 29, resulting in a sentence of two years and one month. Detective Constable Teija Leigh, responsible for the investigation, described the attack as frightening and emphasized its potential to cause long-term psychological damage. Authorities reaffirmed their position against domestic violence and encouraged those affected to seek help.
