ADAM NG FROM FIFE CAUGHT WITH OVER 75 CHILD ABUSE VIDEOS AND IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, Adam Ng, a 38-year-old man from Fife, was found in possession of an alarming collection of child abuse material on his mobile phone. The authorities uncovered a total of 75 videos and images, with some of the videos classified as Category A, indicating the most severe form of illegal content.
The footage, which spanned nearly six and a half hours, depicted children as young as 8 years old, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material.
Ng appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to face sentencing after previously admitting guilt to charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children.
The offences took place at an address in Steelend, Fife, between March 3 and June 20 of the previous year.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Ng had used the DuckDuckGo search engine to download the illicit content.
This choice was made because of the application's enhanced encryption features, which include not recording search history and providing email protection, making it more difficult for investigators to trace.
When police executed a raid on Ng’s residence, he did not deny his involvement.
Instead, he immediately confessed to officers that he had been “downloading things,” and he urged them to cease questioning his wife, who was present at the time.
The forensic analysis of Ng’s mobile device confirmed the presence of the extensive collection of illegal material.
The court was informed that the videos and images were stored on his phone, with 28 of the videos classified as Category A, indicating the most serious level of child exploitation content.
In addition to the prison sentence, Ng was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register for a period of two years.
Furthermore, the court mandated that Ng participate in the 'Moving Forward to Change' programme, which is designed to address and rehabilitate individuals with a history of sexual offending.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse material, and the serious consequences faced by those caught engaging in such criminal activities.
