NOTTINGHAM SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A sex offender identified as Adam Kirsopp has been found guilty of possessing, making, and distributing extremely graphic and illegal images of children, including babies, being sexually abused by adults.The Nottingham Crown Court heard how the 27-year-old kept hundreds of such disturbing images and videos on his mobile phone for sexual gratification.
Despite having no prior convictions and having spent a year trying to address what he described as an 'addiction,' he was sentenced to two years and two months in prison.
The judge, Recorder Stuart Sprawson, emphasized that he did not accept Kirsopp's claim of lack of sexual interest in children.
He stated, “Some of the children in the images were babies and indecent images of children must be viewed seriously.
Those who make and distribute these images perpetuate the misery and suffering of these children.” The police investigation was triggered when authorities received information linking an internet address to Kirsopp that was sharing child abuse images.
During the investigation, his mobile phone was examined, revealing 115 images of the most serious category, showing very young children being raped.
He also shared images of two 12-year-old girls with a comment describing one as 'hot,' and discussed sharing images of children for his gratification.
Kirsopp pleaded guilty to multiple charges including distribution and possession of illegal images and possessing prohibited content involving animals.
The court also imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, and he was ordered to sign the sex offender register for 10 years.
Kirsopp's solicitor tried to have the prison sentence suspended, citing his cooperation, employment, and efforts to seek help, but the judge ruled otherwise, considering the severity of his actions.
