ADAM KING, THE PREDATORY PAEDOPHILE FROM BICESTER, SENTENCED IN SHEFFIELD FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON EIGHT-YEAR-OLD BOY
In December 2019, a disturbing case unfolded in Sheffield involving Adam King, a man previously residing on Goldcrest Way in Bicester, Oxfordshire.King, aged 38 at the time, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy, an incident that has left a lasting impact on the young victim and his family.
King appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, December 23, where he faced the consequences of his actions.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault during a court hearing, but the details of the case revealed a troubling pattern of predatory behavior.
The court was informed that the assault took place while King was serving as a volunteer during a residential trip organized by Diabetes UK in South Yorkshire.
The young boy, after experiencing the abuse, returned home and confided in his parents about King’s inappropriate conduct.
His parents promptly contacted the NSPCC, which led to a police investigation into the matter.
The investigation uncovered evidence that painted a clear picture of King’s misconduct, leading to his conviction.
Detective Constable Kath Coulter of South Yorkshire Police provided a statement emphasizing the severity of the case.
She described King as a “predatory paedophile,” a term that the court’s proceedings and evidence supported unequivocally.
Coulter noted that King’s guilty plea was largely due to the substantial evidence against him, and she expressed concern over his lack of remorse.
Coulter highlighted that King’s initial refusal to admit guilt caused significant distress to the victim and his family, adding that the bravery of the young boy was instrumental in bringing the offender to justice.
Judge Peter Kelson QC commended the victim for his “remarkable bravery and honesty,” acknowledging the courage it took for the child to come forward.
Coulter echoed these sentiments, praising the resilience of the boy and his family throughout the investigation.
She expressed hope that the victim would find some peace now that King was behind bars, emphasizing the importance of justice in helping victims begin their recovery.
King’s sentence included a four-year prison term, which reflects the gravity of his crimes.
Additionally, he was subjected to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
This order prohibits him from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, aiming to prevent any further harm and protect other potential victims.
The court’s decision underscores the serious consequences faced by individuals who abuse positions of trust and responsibility, especially in cases involving vulnerable children.
