ADAM JALOWY AND SHOCKING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DISCOVERY IN RENFREWSHIRE
A man from Paisley has been condemned after admitting to possessing a large collection of indecent images involving children, drawing widespread societal outrage.Adam Jalowy, aged 22, was found with a significant cache of illicit material that included a total of 172 images and videos portraying the sexual exploitation of children.
The prohibited content was located across two iPhones and a MacBook, all seized during police raids.
Authorities uncovered images depicting young children as young as three years old engaged in sexual acts, shocking the investigators and prompting serious legal action.
The police investigation began with information received on June 14, 2020, indicating that a device at Jalowy’s residence on Blackstoun Oval was connected to the internet and was uploading indecent images of children.
Following this tip, a warrant was issued to search the property.
On November 1, 2021, at approximately 7:45 am, officers arrived at Jalowy’s home to execute the warrant.
During the search, Jalowy was asked to speak with the police in the hallway.
In response, he openly acknowledged, 'It’s on my computer.' The officers seized a black iPhone 13, which Jalowy claimed belonged to him, along with another iPhone and a MacBook.
Jalowy was subsequently arrested on the spot and taken into custody at Helen Street police station.
At around 4 pm on the same day, a cybercrime interim report detailed the discovery of sexually explicit images categorized from A to C.
These images depicted children aged approximately three to 14 years old, involving both males and females.
Jalowy was cautioned, charged, and did not offer any response to the allegations.
Further examination of the devices confirmed the presence of a disturbing collection of materials.
The combined analysis of Jalowy’s iPhones and MacBook revealed a total of 100 videos and 72 images, with some duplicates.
His iPhone 13 alone contained three Category A images, two Category B images, and four Category C images.
In addition, it held 14 Category A videos and two Category C videos, all illustrating the sexual exploitation of children aged three to 14.
The MacBook also stored 49 Category C images, along with three Category B and two Category A images.
It contained 12 videos categorized from A to C, and an additional 23 videos of similar content.
The other iPhone examined by cybercrime specialists presented nine images related to the sexual exploitation of children, alongside 18 Category A videos, 12 Category B videos, and seven Category C videos.
Adam Jalowy admitted during the hearing that he possessed these indecent images periodically between March 17, 2021, and November 1, 2021, at his home address.
He also faced a separate charge concerning possession of 'extreme pornographic images,' including material that depicted bestiality.
However, his plea to this particular charge was accepted as not guilty by the prosecution.
Jalowy’s legal representative, Mark Chambers, indicated that further reports would be necessary to fully assess the case, emphasizing that his client has no previous convictions.
The sheriff overseeing the case, Eoin McGinty, stated that additional reports were essential to determine sentencing options, including the possibility of custody, given the gravity of the offences.
Sheriff McGinty expressed his disgust at the nature of the images and emphasized the societal wickedness of such acts.
He also noted the importance of understanding Jalowy’s potential threat to the community.
The judge postponed the sentencing until April 28, pending the preparation of a criminal justice social work report and a risk assessment for a possible restriction of liberty order.
He warned Jalowy that failure to complete these reports promptly, through no fault of the court, could result in remand into custody.
Furthermore, Jalowy was remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders’ register, with the duration to be determined next month.
