ADAM HOGG FROM BAMBER BRIDGE CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN PRESTON

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Bamber Bridge, Adam Hogg, a 52-year-old resident of Mounsey Road, has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of a child. The incident came to light after a woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, discovered the distressing material on her laptop, which Hogg had borrowed about a month prior to the discovery.

According to reports presented at Preston Crown Court, Hogg had used the woman's laptop without her knowledge and downloaded a moving image depicting a child engaged in explicit acts. The woman, a mother from Bamber Bridge, was devastated upon finding the video in the recycling bin of her device. She expressed her outrage, describing Hogg as a “disgusting vile man,” and emphasized the profound impact such crimes have not only on the victims but also on their families and the wider community.

She stated, “The videos were found on a laptop that he had borrowed and returned, which then got handed to the police. It’s not just about identifying the perpetrators, but identifying and supporting victims too, both online and in person. It’s not just a video, that’s someone’s child, someone being completely humiliated for the rest of their lives, living in shame, knowing that video is lost in cyberspace and could crop back up at any time. The victim’s life is ruined.”

The woman further explained that the repercussions extend beyond the immediate victim, affecting the child’s family, the perpetrator’s relatives, and the community at large, all of whom suffer shame and humiliation because of Hogg’s actions.

Police investigations began after the woman reported her findings to authorities on March 22 of the previous year. The subsequent inquiry revealed that Hogg had downloaded the same indecent video six times between September 2016 and February 14, 2017. The court heard that Hogg, who is believed to have been employed by a food distribution company, had forgotten to delete the material from the recycling bin of the laptop he borrowed.

During the hearing, Judge Beverley Lunt sentenced Hogg to a community order, which includes a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement. Additionally, Hogg was ordered to sign the Sex Offender’s Register for a period of five years and was subject to a sexual harm prevention order. These measures aim to prevent further offenses and to monitor Hogg’s conduct moving forward, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the court’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children and the community at large.
