ADAM GREGORY SENTENCED IN BULLINGDON PRISON FOR CHILD ABUSE DRAWINGS NEAR BICESTER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community near Bicester, Adam Gregory, a 38-year-old inmate at Bullingdon Prison, was sentenced to two years in prison for possessing and creating graphic drawings depicting child abuse.The incident came to light when authorities discovered Gregory in his cell at Bullingdon Prison, which is situated close to Bicester, with an alarming collection of 110 pencil sketches.
Gregory, who had previously been convicted of abusing a girl under the age of 13, was charged with one count of possessing prohibited images of children.
The case was brought before Oxford Crown Court, where Gregory admitted to the charge on Monday.
His legal representative argued that the offense was “a thought crime,” suggesting that the drawings were a manifestation of his disturbed mind rather than an act of actual abuse.
Despite this defense, Judge Mary Jane Mowat sentenced Gregory to two years in prison.
The maximum penalty for such an offense is three years; however, Gregory received a one-third reduction in his sentence due to his early guilty plea.
The judge described the drawings as “cartoonish but technically proficient,” emphasizing their disturbing nature.
She remarked, “They are absolutely sickening to look at.
They provide the clearest insight into the workings of the obsessive child-sex-offender psyche.” Authorities and mental health professionals have expressed concern over the implications of such material, highlighting the potential danger posed by individuals who harbor such disturbing fantasies.
The case underscores ongoing issues related to the possession and creation of illegal and harmful images, especially within the confines of correctional facilities like Bullingdon Prison, which is known for housing some of the most serious offenders in the region near Bicester.
