MANCHESTER TEEN SENTENCED FOR FILMING AND THREATENING UNDERAGE GIRL IN SEXUAL INCIDENT
A teenager who had sex with an underage girl in an abandoned building and then threatened to throw her out of the window has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.Adam Godfrey, 19, made the chilling threat after the child challenged him when she noticed him filming their sexual encounter.
He also struck his vulnerable 15-year-old victim to the face when she protested about being recorded.
Godfrey, of Stevens Road, Manchester, previously pleaded guilty to charges of having sexual intercourse with a child under 16 and assault.
He appeared back in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to be sentenced over the matter.
According to the prosecutor, Godfrey, then 17, contacted the girl via social media in May 2020 and they developed a relationship.
During a conversation, he expressed a desire to have sex with her despite her being only 15.
The girl, described as vulnerable and further impacted by the Covid-19 lockdown, met him at an abandoned house on South Deeside Road, Aberdeen.
While there, they engaged in sexual activity, and the girl noticed that Godfrey was recording her on his phone.
She was shocked and asked him to delete the footage, but he told her to shut up and slapped her.
While still inside the house, he put his hands around her neck and threatened to throw her out of the window, which frightened her.
The police became involved after the girl confided in her mother.
Defense lawyer Stephanie Milligan described Godfrey as a very young man at the time, immature and remorseful, now working as a waiter in Tameside, England.
The court ordered him to be supervised for two years, complete 140 hours of unpaid work, undertake program work, and issued a five-year non-harassment order.
He was also ordered to carry out unpaid work and face supervision for a period of two years, with additional program requirements and a non-harassment order lasting five years.
