Adam Carnell

Cranfield Sexual Abuser

April 2017 Sexual predator from Cranfield jailed for 10 years after taking sadomasochistic photos of teen A PAEDOPHILE from Cranfield has been handed an extended 10 year prison sentence today for taking sadomasochistic photos of a 15-year-old boy in a wood was dubbed a ‘risk taker’ by a judge. Adam Carnell, 30, of Willow Spring, had only just come out of prison for breaching orders in relation to sex offences he had committed in the past. But today, when he appeared at Luton Crown Court via a video link from Peterborough Prison where he has been held on remand, Carnell pleaded guilty to taking an indecent photo of a child on a smart phone in a woods in Lincolnshire. He further admitted possessing an indecent image of a child, three offences of making indecent photos of a child and breaching the terms of a sexual offences prevention order. Judge Michael Kay QC told him he was clearly a ‘risk taker’. He added: “You have no mental strength or will power to desist from your sexual interest which you know full well is illegal.” The court heard that he is interested in young pubescent boys under 16 and had first been convicted for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy when he was in his late teens and received two years in a young offenders institute. He was also made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order. But Sarah Porter, prosecuting, told how in the years that followed there were recalls into custody for Carnell when it was found he had breached the terms of the order. Those breaches concerned his computer activity, attending gatherings where young boys were present, and being found in possession of indecent photos of young boys. More breaches occurred in early 2016 resulting in the defendant going back into prison last April. On July 9 last year, the prosecutor said Carnell was released to a probation hostel in Cambridgeshire and made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order. Judge Kay was told that in August of last year the police became aware that Carnell was in possession of an undeclared smartphone. For that he received a further four weeks in prison, but an examination of the smart phone revealed a number of photos he had taken of a 15-year old-boy in woodlands in Lincolnshire. The court heard that Carnell had an interest in sadomasochistic practices which were reflected in the photos he took of the boy that day. It was discovered they had met online and Carnell had arranged to meet the boy in the woods, travelling from Cambridgeshire to Lincs. Miss Porter told the court that when the youngster was subsequently traced by the police, he was not willing to go to court. However, a laptop belonging to Carnell was also examined and more indecent images of young boys were discovered that he had downloaded from the internet following his release from prison last July. Sentencing Carnell today, Judge Kay it was quite obvious they way he had flouted the court orders made and continued to commit offences that he was a ‘risk taker’. The judge told the defendant he had a ‘deeply troubling history’ and he said as a result he had no hesitation in finding that he presented a real risk to the general public. He told Carnell he would be subject to an extended prison sentence That meant, said the judge that the custody element of it would be six years followed by a longer period on licence of four years Judge Kay told him he would have to serve a minimum period behind bars of four years before he could even be considered for parole. But he told Carnell he could be recalled back to prison if he breached his licence and that would last up until 2027. His name is also on the sexual offenders register and he will remain the subject of a sexual harm prevention order. Pervert breaks SOPO – Jailed A CRANFIELD man who breached the terms of a court order not to attend activities where young children would be present without first notifying the police, has been given a 26 week prison sentence. Adam Carnell had been convicted of two offences of sexual assault on a child under 13 back in 2005. He had received a sentence of two years in a young offenders institution. In addition he had also been made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order by the judge at Harrow crown court. One of the conditions of the order was that he could not attend pre planned activities where young children would be present without first notifying his supervising offender manager. But Luton crown court heard today how on three occasions in September, October and November of last year he had attended organised outdoor “shoot em up” games involving the company, Air Soft. Today Angus Robertson prosecuting told Judge Philip Bartle that Carnell had failed to notify the authorities and as a result had breached the SOPO. The court heard that when police became aware of what Carnell had done and went to his home, it was was discovered he had images of child sex abuse on his mobile phone. Today ay he appeared for sentence via a video link from Norwich Prison where he has been held on remand since in arrest in December. He admitted a breach of the order as well as making 11 indecent photos which featured young boys in a state of undress. Carnell was given a 26 week jail sentence and made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order.
