ABDULRIZAK HERSI AND HIS SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEENAGE GIRL IN LONDON UNDERGROUND
A man accused of committing a disturbing sexual assault has been sentenced to prison after being caught in the act aboard a train on the London Underground network. The individual, Abdulrizak Ali Hersi, aged 32 and residing on Invicita Close in Limehouse, was convicted of sexual assault at Inner London Crown Court on the 5th of May.
The court proceedings resulted in a sentencing that will see Hersi serve an 18-month prison term.
Additionally, he was subjected to a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a legal measure designed to restrict his interactions in public spaces to prevent further offenses.
Under the terms of this order, Hersi is prohibited from deliberately positioning himself directly behind or next to any woman he does not personally know in any public area.
Furthermore, Hersi was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187, a financial penalty intended to contribute towards support and rehabilitation services for victims of sexual crimes.
The incident that led to Hersi’s arrest occurred on October 11th, shortly before 5 p.m., when plainclothes officers from the British Transport Police were conducting routine patrols on the Piccadilly Line.
These officers, trained to identify and apprehend sexual offenders, observed Hersi boarding a train at Green Park station.
He was seen standing close to the train doors, appearing to follow suspicious behavior.
As the train reached the next station, Leicester Square, a family entered the carriage.
Moments after the family boarded, Hersi committed a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl who was part of that family.
The police officers, who had been monitoring Hersi, responded swiftly.
They intervened immediately, removing Hersi from the train at Leicester Square and making an arrest on the spot.
Inspector Sharon Turner commented on the case, emphasizing the importance of covert policing units in tackling sexual offenses.
She said, “Our plainclothes teams are specially trained in identifying dangerous sexual offenders like Hersi, who will do their level best to commit such crimes without notice.
In this case, the victim and her family didn’t even realize what was happening until our officers quickly intervened.”
