SERIOUS CLAPHAM ACID ATTACK SUSPECT WITH PAST SEXUAL OFFENSES ON THE RUN
Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, a 35-year-old man, is the suspect wanted in connection with a serious attack in Clapham where a woman and her two young daughters were injured with a corrosive substance. The attack took place on Lessar Avenue, causing injuries to 12 people including the mother, with some injuries described as potentially life-changing.
Ezedi, who is a known sex offender convicted in 2018 for sexual assault and exposure, was granted asylum in the UK after previously being refused twice.
His asylum was granted in 2021 or 2022 following his conversion to Christianity, which was supported by a priest.
CCTV footage shows Ezedi with severe burns on the right side of his face; he was last seen in Caledonian Road, North London, after the attack.
Ezedi has a history of violence and sexual offenses, and authorities are actively hunting him.
He traveled to the UK reportedly in 2016, arriving via a lorry, and lived in Newcastle before moving to London.
Police believe he may be trying to return to the northeast and have offered a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to his arrest.
The investigation continues as authorities issued a public appeal for him to surrender, with ongoing analysis of the corrosive substance used in the attack.
