AARON WILSON FROM LEICESTER ON THE RUN AFTER GROOMING 14-YEAR-OLD IN SUSSEX
In a concerning development, police authorities are urgently seeking assistance in locating Aaron Michael Rhys Wilson, a convicted sex offender from Leicester who has now gone into hiding.Wilson, who previously resided in the Frog Island area of Leicester, failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing in Sussex earlier this year, prompting authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Wilson, aged 23, was due to face sentencing for multiple serious charges, including five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and one count of inciting or causing a child to participate in sexual acts.
The victim in this case was a 14-year-old girl, whom Wilson had contacted through online platforms, according to Sussex Police officials.
Sussex Police confirmed that their colleagues in Leicestershire Police are actively involved in the ongoing search for Wilson.
The arrest warrant was issued after Wilson failed to attend the court proceedings at Lewes Crown Court in January, despite having previously admitted to the charges against him.
In an official statement released today, Sussex Police detailed the circumstances surrounding the case.
They stated, “Wilson arranged to meet a girl, who was then 14, in St Leonards after making contact with her online from his home in Leicester.” Detective Constable Joanna Cooper provided further insight into Wilson’s absence from court.
She explained, “He did not attend a pre-sentence review scheduled for December last year, nor did he appear for his sentencing at Lewes Crown Court in January.” DC Cooper also outlined Wilson’s known whereabouts and previous addresses.
“He is from Leicester, with last known addresses on Paget Road and Dunton Street in the Frog Island area.
Additionally, he is known to have connections in Sinfin Avenue in the Shelton Lock area and Drewry Lane in Derby.” Authorities have indicated that Wilson is deliberately evading law enforcement efforts.
They are working closely with both Leicestershire and Derbyshire Police in hopes of locating him and bringing him to justice.
Members of the public are encouraged to contact Sussex Police either online or by calling 101 if they have any information that could assist in the search for Aaron Wilson.
