A 31-year-old man named Aaron Willis, who resides on Towpath Road in Trowbridge, has been found guilty of engaging in inappropriate and sexual communications with two young girls aged 12 and 13 through the social media platform Snapchat. The case was brought before Winchester Crown Court, where Willis pleaded guilty to two separate charges related to his conduct.
According to court records, Willis, using the username 'Wonka,' initiated a series of messages with the two girls. These conversations included explicit requests and comments, with Willis asking one girl to send photos of her buttocks and instructing her not to disclose their interactions to anyone. In one message, he wrote, “Show me then lol xxxx,” followed by, “And don’t say anything to anyone xxx.” He also sent messages such as, “Get the body out,” and made a comment about her physique, saying, “You got a fat one I know that xx,” which was believed to refer to her buttocks.
During the exchanges, Willis also shared photographs of himself, including images of his face and body. One of these images depicted him topless, showing his tensed biceps, stomach, and wearing boxer shorts. The victims' parents discovered the messages after the girls confided in them about the conversations. They took photographs of the phone, which contained the offending material, including a video call that displayed Willis’ face.
Following his guilty plea, Willis was sentenced to a 16-month prison term, which was suspended for two years. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years. The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which restricts Willis from possessing or sharing content involving children unless explicitly permitted under specific circumstances. As part of the conditions, he is required to register all digital devices and social media accounts with the police, permit monitoring software to be installed on his devices, and cooperate fully with device inspections.
Furthermore, Willis is mandated to complete a 43-day sex offender rehabilitation program, undertake ten days of additional rehabilitation activities, and perform 100 hours of unpaid community service. These measures aim to prevent any future offenses and ensure ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect children from potential harm.
