AARON SUTTON AND HIS SHOCKING OFFENSES IN MANCHESTER

In a case that has shocked the local community in Manchester, Aaron Sutton, a 22-year-old man from Northenden, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for displaying a pattern of deceit and inappropriate conduct involving a young girl.

Sutton’s criminal activity came to light after a series of betrayals of trust and a blatant violation of court orders designed to protect vulnerable children.

Originally, Sutton was not sentenced to immediate imprisonment after being found in possession of indecent images of children.

Instead, he received a penalty that allowed for probation and court review.

His case was seen as an opportunity for him to demonstrate genuine remorse and to show evidence of behavioral change.

However, during a subsequent review by Judge Anthony Cross QC, it was revealed that Sutton had been in ongoing contact with a minor through the internet, despite his previous restrictions.

The court uncovered that Sutton engaged in text-based conversations with the girl, which included language that was highly sexualized.

This conduct was particularly alarming given the context of his previous convictions and the measures put in place to prevent further offenses.

The judge condemned Sutton’s dishonesty, pointing out that Sutton had deceived not only the probation service but also his own family and the court.

Judge Cross QC stated, “I was assured by the probation service and by you that you were responding to the terms of the order.

That was just a lie.

You were given the opportunity to change, you didn't.

You were lying to yourself, lying to the probation service, lying to your father and lying to me.” The court heard that Sutton had developed a relationship with a 12-year-old girl who was in foster care, a girl with a troubled personal history.

He engaged in offenses that worsened her already difficult circumstances.

This revelation added a grave dimension to Sutton’s misconduct, highlighting his breach of the trust placed in him.

In October 2019, Sutton had previously been handed a six-month suspended sentence after being found in possession of indecent images of children.

As part of his sentence, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which banned him from having unsupervised contact with female children and restricted him from possessing devices capable of internet access unless they were registered with the police.

Despite these measures, Sutton was found to be in violation of the order.

Court proceedings revealed that during supervision, Sutton falsely claimed compliance with these conditions.

Yet, investigators uncovered that he had maintained online contact with the girl in question.

The girl, who met Sutton at school but considered him her 'boyfriend,' had also sent him photos, which she did without solicitation.

Her actions were driven by her perception of Sutton as a friend and her trust in him.

The police swiftly intervened after discovering Sutton’s breaches, including his unregistered laptop and continued online contact with the girl via Snapchat.

Although Sutton and the girl never met in person, his actions clearly contravened the court’s protective orders.

Defending Sutton, lawyer Bob Elias argued that the girl had willingly engaged in the online conversations, suggesting she was eager for interaction, although this did not mitigate the seriousness of Sutton’s breaches.

Elias emphasized that the girl was a child and needed protection from her own choices.

Ultimately, Sutton pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child and three counts of breaching the sexual harm prevention order.

The court’s judgment reflected the severity of his offenses and the deception involved, resulting in a significant custodial sentence to prevent further harm to children and uphold the integrity of protections in place in Manchester.
