DEVIZES IT TECH AARON STOCKLEY BANNED FOR LIFE OVER INDECENT PHOTO OF GIRL

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Devizes, Aaron Stockley, a 27-year-old IT technician employed at Lavington School, has been handed a lifetime ban from working with children following his conviction related to indecent material involving a minor.

Stockley, residing on West View Crescent in Devizes, was found guilty of possessing an indecent photograph of a 15-year-old girl. The image was stored on his mobile phone, and he admitted to having two counts of such possession. The girl involved cannot be named due to legal restrictions. Despite his admission to these charges, Stockley denied three additional allegations of engaging in sexual activity with the teenager. The Crown Prosecution Service chose not to pursue these particular charges, leading to their dismissal.

The charges against Stockley stem from incidents that occurred in April 2009. The case was formally committed to Salisbury Crown Court on August 18 of the previous year. After a thorough trial, the court delivered its verdict on February 14, sentencing him accordingly.

As part of his punishment, Stockley received a lifetime ban from working with children, a measure designed to protect minors from potential harm. In addition to this, he was sentenced to a 36-month community order, which includes supervision requirements to monitor his conduct over the next three years. Furthermore, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing oversight of his activities.

Since his arrest, Stockley has been suspended from his employment at Lavington School on full pay. One of the conditions of his bail was that he must have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16, a restriction aimed at preventing any further risk to minors.

The family of the girl involved has chosen not to comment publicly on the conviction, respecting their privacy during this difficult time. The case highlights the ongoing concerns about safeguarding minors and the importance of strict legal measures to prevent such offenses in the future.
