HOTEL WORKER CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AVOIDS JAIL
A man who traded vile child sex images with others and “spoke about his fantasies of abusing children” has avoided an immediate prison sentence.Derby Crown Court heard how Aaron Pruszak downloaded photographs and movies of youngsters as young as one being sexually assaulted.
The 27-year-old hotel worker admitted to touching himself sexually while viewing the films but denied having any sexual interest in children.
After a three-year period since his arrest, he was given a suspended two-year jail term.
The court was informed that police found 452 indecent images on his electronic devices, including 31 still images and 228 videos of the most serious category A, depicting young children.
Conversations also revealed he discussed fantasies involving abuse and showed indecent images to others.
Specifically, he distributed four category A images on four separate occasions between December 2022 and May 2023.
Pruszak, from Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield, pleaded guilty to distributing and making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography.
Despite the severity of the images found, including some of children as young as one, he was spared an immediate prison sentence, receiving a two-year jail sentence suspended for two years.
The judge ordered him to attend 20 rehabilitation sessions, undertake 180 hours of unpaid work, and participate in a 12-month mental health programme.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offender register for 10 years and issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
The court heard that Pruszak had no prior convictions, and his defense highlighted that he has been working as a night auditor and that he has shown remorse and taken steps to address his behavior.
The case underscores the ongoing risks posed by those involved in the possession and distribution of child abuse images, even if they deny sexual interest in children.
