Huntingdon Domestic Abuser
A man from Cambridgeshire, Aaron Diiuorio, was forcibly subdued with PAVA spray by police officers following an assault on his girlfriend at a property in Sapley, Huntingdon. The 34-year-old individual attacked his partner, prompting a neighbor to call emergency services after hearing the disturbance at approximately 3am on Monday, April 15.

When police arrived, Diiuorio refused to cooperate and initially did not allow entry. Officers then applied PAVA spray to incapacitate him, after which they managed to enter the premises. Diiuorio attempted to flee through a window but was eventually restrained and taken into custody.

The woman involved reported experiencing frequent physical abuse, and injuries such as bruises on her arm and marks on her neck were documented by officers. On November 11, Diiuorio, of Hurstingstone, St Ives, was sentenced to a three-month jail term at Cambridge Crown Court after admitting to the charge of common assault.

Detective Constable Steve Surtees expressed his views, stating, “Diiuorio’s conduct toward his girlfriend was appalling, and I am pleased he has been imprisoned. Domestic abuse remains a priority for us, and we are committed to ensuring offenders are brought to justice.”
