Bury Sexual Abuser

December 2004 E-mail shame of internet pervert TWO perverts exchanged e-mails in which one of them wrote “I wish we could get our hands on a baby or a girl and have some real fun”, a court heard. Computer technician Aaron Barlow, 26, (pictured) sent the message to primary school teacher Maurice Turner as he attempted to arrange a meeting between the pair. Details of the e-mails emerged at Bolton Crown Court yesterday when Barlow, from Bury, pleaded guilty to three charges of making an indecent photograph. He was arrested after police traced the e-mails from a computer belonging to Turner, 54, who was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Manchester Crown Court earlier this year for taking indecent photographs of children in his primary school classes. Bolton Crown Court heard that Barlow was one of the internet users Turner corresponded with. Alison Heyworth, prosecuting, said Barlow sent e-mails to Turner which mentioned a particular children’s toy shop as a meeting place and added that they should “try to think of a way to get us a young one”. The e-mail added: “We will have to think up a plan to get one. I’m sure we will just have to be very careful and not do it on our own doorstep.” The court was told Barlow had also requested pictures of children being abused. It also heard that Barlow, a computer technician with a cable company, is engaged and had not told his fiancée about the offences. He wept in court as the prosecution evidence was read out. Richard Orme, defending, said Turner and Barlow had met in an internet chat room. He said Barlow maintains he was involved in “role play” and “bravado”, adding: “He had no intention of meeting Turner and he never did. He admits it was disgusting.” Judge Elliot Knopf sentenced Barlow to a three year community rehabilitation order and said he would have to attend a sex offenders’ programme. He was also ordered to give notification under the Sex Offenders Act, and has been disqualified from working with children for life. A not guilty verdict was recorded on a charge of conspiracy to distribute indecent images
