EX-TEACHER JAILED FOR SEX ABUSE
A former teacher branded a "monster" and previously imprisoned for abusing two boys has received an additional prison term after being convicted of abusing four more teenagers.
Paul Stuart Adams, who served as a teacher in west Cumbria and also worked as a freelancer for the BBC, was described in court as having created situations that allowed him to gain private and close contact with the teenagers over many years, Carlisle Crown Court heard.
The 78-year-old resident of Workington was originally sentenced in 2022 and was released on license late last year.
He had denied any further misconduct.
After a trial held in January, Adams was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault, one count of sexual assault, and paying a minor for sexual services.
He has now been sentenced to seven more years in prison.
The court was told that the media coverage of his 2022 conviction encouraged the victims, now adults, to come forward.
They revealed that Adams had abused them during separate incidents over several decades.
According to the court, three of these incidents took place within a school environment.
