MAN JAILED FOR NON-RECENT OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
Detectives have commended the bravery and resilience demonstrated by four women who were victims of a sexual offender, after he received a 21-year prison sentence.John Huskinson’s criminal behavior extends over more than forty years and includes multiple historic sexual crimes dating from the 1980s.
The four women reported being sexually assaulted by Huskinson during the 1980s and 1990s.
Although now adults, they were young children when the abuse took place.
They came forward and shared their experiences with specially trained officers, all expressing concern that Huskinson still posed a threat to children.
Further recent crimes surfaced in April 2022, when Huskinson was found to have engaged online with someone he believed to be a young girl, but who was actually an online activist.
He requested the ‘child’ send nude images, prompting police to investigate.
Authorities seized Huskinson’s mobile devices, which contained numerous indecent images, including 13 of the most serious Category A abuse images involving children.
Huskinson, who is 73, denied involvement in the historic offenses but was convicted of 15 sexual crimes after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court last month.
On 3 July, he was sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison by the same court.
His convictions included 13 counts of indecent assault and two counts of attempted rape.
He also pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a minor, three counts of creating indecent images of a child, and one count of possessing extreme pornographic material.
